Polycom Forms New Public Sector Organization to Increase Focus on Unique Video Collaboration Needs of U.S. Government, Education and Healthcare Market
Barry Morris will lead new Public Sector organization that combines Polycom’s Federal, State & Local Government, Education and Healthcare Organizations in the U.S.

Washington, DC - Aug 29, 2012 : Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM), the global leader in open standards-based unified communications (UC), today announced the launch of a new Public Sector organization, created by combining the company’s U.S. Federal and State and Local Government organizations, Education and Healthcare groups, as well as its Grants division, into one entity.

The new organization enables Polycom to dedicate more focus and resources to the unique video collaboration and video teleconferencing (VTC) needs of customers in critical U.S. Government, Education and Healthcare markets, and will be led by Barry Morris, President, Polycom Public Sector. Morris previously served as Vice President of Polycom's Federal Government division.

"With our consistent success in the Federal space, the expanding opportunities in Healthcare and Education, and the unique video-enabled use cases of these markets, it became clear to us that we needed to grow our investments in and focus on the greater public sector space," said Andy Miller, President and CEO, Polycom.  "The formation of our Public Sector organization is a show of Polycom's continued commitment to our customers. We are aligning ourselves to better serve as a resource for their success, understand their unique and complex VTC needs, and provide them with the best innovations, TCO and interoperable video collaboration solutions in the industry."

"I am pleased to lead Polycom's new Public Sector organization and help drive market share growth in these strategic vertical markets," said Morris.  "Certifications, public funding, contract vehicles and procurement regulations are all major concerns for any public sector organization and this re-alignment of our resources will maximize our ability to serve them and address their unique needs."
