Web-Enabled Motorized Circuit Panel Delivers Power Control, Protection, and Sequencing to Robust AVL Installation

LENEXA, Kan. Jan. 31, 2017 LynTec, a leading manufacturer of innovative electrical power control solutions for professional audio, video, and lighting systems, announced its RPC controllable breaker panel successfully met the power control and sequencing challenges of Menlo Church’s newest campus location in San Jose, California. The LynTec RPC panel enabled the organization to affordably power, protect, and easily manage the site’s digital audio, video, and stage and LED lighting systems installed in the former 1960s era move theater.

“This space had no power distribution running through it, except in the old projection booth, so we needed an affordable power control that wouldn’t add outrageous costs or labor to the electrical infrastructure,” said Evan Hamilton, title, E2i. “Having partnered with LynTec in many of our designs over the years, we knew how cost-effective the RPC panels were while providing advanced control, protection, and sequencing capabilities. We were able to support Menlo’s entire AVL system in one self-contained panel. This helped us manage costs as well as give Menlo’s technical staff a convenient solution to manage their equipment and lighting.”

Led by well-known author and speaker John Ortberg, Menlo Church has a rich history of ministry that goes back more than 140 years. Under Ortberg’s ministry, the church has grown to five campuses in the San Francisco Bay Area, including the San Jose campus, which opened in March 2016. E2i Design indicated the LynTec RPC panels as part of its audio, video, and lighting design to transform the vacant movie theater into the inspiring environment that make the church’s ministry welcoming.

The LynTec RPC panel enables affordable, clean power control for the campus’ Martin by Harman LED house lighting and Jands LED front wash systems, stage power, Barco projectors, and a FOH Yamaha audio console system. It also provides proper on/off power sequencing, delivering vital audio protection from in-rush damage. In addition, the system also extends the life and cuts down on energy costs and maintenance of the facility’s LED fixtures via a computer or mobile device for remote management.

“As worship installations continue to implement the latest digital AV technology and LED lighting solutions into their spaces, it’s become increasingly challenging for designers and integrators to affordably solve the power issues that these new systems introduce,” said Mark Bishop, president of LynTec. “Our RPC lineup is designed to deliver power control, protection, and sequencing capabilities that increase the longevity of their AVL systems in a cost-effective, easy-to-operate, open platform. We are honored that E2i has made our products a standard within their impressive worship system designs.”

Built specifically to manage installed audio and lighting systems of any size, LynTec's RPC panels are designed to offer customers electrical protection and Web-enabled circuit switching capabilities in the same enclosure. The panels’ flexible architecture enables customers to add more circuits in the same horizontal wall space to control a greater number of components, as needed. The RPC panels support 48, 66, and 84 circuit breaker positions with no increase in enclosure width. As a result of this comprehensive package, integrators can easily set up, program, monitor, and control loads on a circuit-specific level. Accessible from any Web-enabled device, the solutions provide a complete overview and allow users to take action remotely, resulting in greater installation flexibility, more efficient power control, and the ability to provide direct on/off control for LED lighting. The panelboards also bring built-in under- and over-voltage protection, optional customizable sequential circuit level on/off capabilities, and the ability to interface with third-party control systems via contact closure, TCP/IP, DMX, or RS-232.
