Useful Information
IBC 2011, will be the platform for Christie largest showcase of new products and technology previews seen in EMEA to date. Over 7 new Christie models will either be launched or previewed at IBC 2011, here are just some of the highlights;
Christie J Series*
The NEW Christie J Series, which sees the evolution of Christie's award-winning xenon illuminated 3-chip DLP projection systems. The new J Series will be simultaneously launched at both IBC 2011 and PLASA 2011, with Christie's J Series installation projection systems on show at IBC 2011. And the new Roadster and Mirage J Series models launched at PLASA at 2011, for extremely high-brightness, event staging and 3D applications respectively. Christie will reveal further information on the J Series shortly before its launch at IBC, so be sure to return here in the first week of September for further information.
Christie Interactivity Kit*
Christie will be encouraging visitors to engage its new interactivity kit developed for Christie MicroTiles. Visitors will be encouraged to scrawl, paint, spray and make their mark on a "Graffiti Wall" created use Christie MicroTiles and the Christie Interactivity Kit which is being developed for resale later this year. The interactivity kit differs from other gesture and touch based systems currently on the market offering much faster responses times and up to 16 gestures points across the canvass at any one time. The "Graffiti Wall" was a big hit at its first preview in Infocomm and will be shown at IBC 2011 as part of a studio-set concept.
Christie JumpStart*
Another development that extends the functionality of Christie MicroTiles. Christie JumpStart, being previewed at IBC, enables MicroTiles users to display content in windows that can be "snapped" to fit either the available resolution of the MicroTiles canvass. Or the frames can be snapped to fit the array shaped themselves or any defined area of the MicroTiles canvass. Christie Jump looks to bridge the gap between MicroTiles unique building block concept of irregular display shapes and existing user content, enabling users to 'fit' more content to more MicroTiles shapes without the need to develop bespoke content for each new shape.
Christie FHD551-X
A new LCD backlit LED panel product for tiled solutions in command and control applications, this 55" panel offers native HD resolution (1920 x 1080), great contrast 3000:1 full field up to 700 nits brightness and comes with a Image Retention Frame Motion (IFRM), a feature that allows the Christie FHD551-X to display a static image over long periods of time, while avoiding image retention and burn in, making the product well suited for 24/7 mission critical applications.
Digital Screenings
Following on from IBC 2010, where Christie gave the first public showcase of 4K DLP Cinema technology, Christie's next generation of 2K and 4K DLP Cinema projection systems will be used to support all presentations at the Big Screen Experience throughout IBC, including the BIG SCREEN Saturday Night Movie; Transformers 3 : Dark of The Moon in DIGITAL 3D (RAI Auditorium - Saturday 10th September 18.30, doors open at 18.15), and the D-Cinema Conference in the RAI theatre on Monday 12th September, which centres on all things 3D from post-production to live transmission and includes showcasing some of the latest DIGITAL 3D content including;
Christie D4K35
Continuing in the 4K vein, IBC 2011 will be the first presentation of the Christie D4K35, 4K DLP projection system for non-cinema applications demanding the highest resolutions and brightness such as powerwalls and other advanced simulation and visualisation applications. The Christie D4K35 will be can be seen on Christie's stand in a rear-projection set-up common to powerwall applications. Further information on Christie's D4K35 can be found here.
